Timeless Ties print (8″x10″)

There are countless ties that can be identified when considering the Ancient Hawaiian ways.  Ties that have lived on through the Hawaiian people and their practices of the old beliefs.  Ties between the people and the gifts the land provides, and ties between lifestyles and giving thanks to those entities who made such lifestyles possible.  A prominent part of Hula is expressing ones thankfulness for such giving lands and gods who provided such gifts.

Speaking of the Hula, one of the most common practices that have remained to this day is the practice of expression through song and dance.  Today many local musicians of Hawaii are keeping this tradition strong, just as the hula has for so long.  Modern “Jawaiian Music” is very popular amongst locals and this piece expresses this modern tie with it’s preceding historical tie to music, dance and expression of the Ancient Hawaiian people.
